Dear Poetry Friends

With 2020 beckoning, several more new events both in and out of London have now been planned to add to the calendar November’s newsletter gave you. Do let your out-of-town friends and family know.  See Events Currently Scheduled for those already available for booking.

DORSET

D H Lawrence Night is on at Sladers Yard, West Bay, Bridport, on Friday 21st February 2020.

SURREY

Poetry Is Communication will mark our return to The Hop Blossom, Long Garden Walk, Farnham on Monday 30th March, and booking will open soon.  

Also new for Surrey: the Farnham Flash Festival wants our LitMus Trio back on Saturday June 13th 2020 at the acoustically wonderful St Andrew’s Church for another of our poetry, prose and music concerts which have been going down so well with audiences there. 2020’s major 250th anniversary figures Wordsworth and Beethoven are expected to feature strongly.

SOMERSET

Shakespeare the Poet Night comes to one of Britain’s most remarkable independent bookshops, Brendon Books, in Bath Place, Taunton, on Monday 27th April 2020 (booking open)

LONDON

Our 2020 Sutton House monthly season of six then opens on Wednesday 29th April 2020 at 7pm with Pablo Neruda Night (booking open), and continues:

Thursday 25 June 2020 at 7 – Aleksandr Pushkin (booking open)
Wednesday 22 July 2020 at 7 – Edna St Vincent Millay
Thursday 13 August 2020 at 7 – Samuel Taylor Coleridge
Wednesday 23 September 2020 at 7 – Adrienne Rich

To start the year in London: 2020 opens with the great mystery of metamorphosis. Booking has been strong for a set of ten mornings in London W1 from 16 January to 19 March: Transformation as Art – Ovid’s Metamorphoses – Word and Image. There are still some places. Do come. BOOKING

As you will see from the website’s Scheduled Events, booking is already open for 21st February and 27th April. Booking for the other events will follow soon.
